Radio licenses are issued in the public trust...

Remember that?

It's been a long time since it really meant anything.  Radio has become big
business.  I agree that we are essentially giving away licenses to big
business that then reap huge rewards when the sell the station several
years later.  Perhaps the government should be charging more for station
licenses, perhaps an "income tax" on the stations revenues to allow it to
be proportional to the amout that the station reaps from using the public
airwaves.
