Right! Not to be confused with "Cross-Fire" or "The McLaughlin Group,"
where there's just shouting.
But then, shouting seems to be considered "good television." A number of
years ago (probably around 1979-80-81), when I was actively involved in
Brookline in fighting condominium conversions, I appeared with Harold
Brown's brother on a talk show on Channel 7. At first, we were just
explaining our respective positions and, I thought, informing the viewers
on where we stood. Then, Ron Brown started interrupting and cutting me
off. Silly me, I thought the host would act as a moderator, but a
discussion of the issues just wasn't what they wanted. During the
commercial break, we were told that we should shout at each other more.
