Jammin Oldies in NYC

As of 6 p.m. New York City's "Big 105 FM" ceased to exist. Chancellor
Media, owners of WBIX-FM flipped the format over to Jammin' Oldies 105.

In the process Chancellor's programming geniuses (HA!) removed morning
announcer Danny Bonaduce and say that he will stay with the company but
will go to another of their stations.

Jammin Oldies sounds like a rip-off of the soul/R&B format heard on
(black owned & operated) WWRL-1600, except that they use white deejays and
hope to capture a 55% white audience.

THe music consists basically of the top charting mowtown hits of the 60s
70s and 80s which were not only hits with black audiences but with most
white people who listened to hit-parade music shows back in those
decades
