Come December 27 at midnight, the sounds of Ella, Frank,
Nat and Bing willcease to be, when WQEW dumps the 
local (and musically educational) nostalgia forat for the
bird-fed Radio Disney network. Disney-ABC has negotiated
 a n eight year lease for the 50,000 watt station. 
(article in the metro section of the Dec. 2 NY Times - who 
owns the station) Disney has an option to buy the place
at the end of the term.

What a tragic day for radio in New York City.
