You could have picked up a pirate. At one time, 1620 was a hotbed of
pirate activity. But with the expanded band now coming into widespread
use, it's possible that most pirates may now use 1710 or 1720, but I
think whatever you heard decided for some reason to use the
"traditional" pirate frequency of 1620.
