Some or all of the ghosting and horizontal lines seen over the last 3
or 4 days on the lower TV channels are probably due in part to recent
solar-flare activity.

Very strong influx of solar particles interacting with the  Earth's
magnetosphere have been causing minor to major geomagnetic storming -
higher storming levels at the higher latitudes (Canada).

Boulder predicts unsettled to minor storm levels for the geomagnetic
field, with periods of possible major storm events for Nov. 10 thru to
the 11th, then diminishing values expected thereafter.

Co-channel interference can be expected on the lower TV channels
(lower VHF frequencies) as distant same-channel stations that normally
never interact, are having some of their signal power refracted by the
ionosphere (or skipped) into the same "space" that channels 2, 4, 5,
usually occupy by themselves in their respective home-broadcast domains.
