Correct. Just 72 years ago, the 1926 Radio Dirctory had this to say
about broadcast chains:

" The National Broadcasting Co., 195 Broadway, NYC, broadcasts its
programs over 3 chains of associated stations: the RED Network with
WEAF, NYC, as the key station, the BLUE Network with WJZ, NYC, as the
key station and the Pacific Coast Network.

" The Columbia Broadcasting System., Paramount Building, NYC, operated
by the Columbia Phonograph Broadcasting System, Inc., broadcasts over a
chain of associated stations with WOR, Newark, N.J., as the key
station." -end-

The thing that's different with the 1926 line-up is that radio station
WBZ (900 Kc) 15,000 watts, was in Springfield, and WBZA (900 kc) 500
watts, was in Boston at that time. I wonder if there was an
interference problem? When was the swap in call letters that I remember
as WBZA (FM), Springfield, in the 50s?
