Sinclair as a TV station operator

Would anyone who lives in a Sinclair TV market care to comment on how they
operate, especially with respect to news? The Press Herald story the other
day quoted features reporter Amy Sinclair (no relation, as the paper noted)
expressing concerns. As Amy comes from Pennsylvania, I reckon she knows of
what she speaks. Their reputation is as having less-than-cordial labor
relations.

The Press Herald story said that Sinclair pays about a quarter of what Guy
Gannett pays for certain syndicated programming and that their stations'
operating margin is nearly double that of Guy Gannett's. That says
something about the economics behind such acquisitions, don't you think? I
suspect that WGME-TV will end up like WMUR-TV, technology-rich and
talent-poor.

Take care,

Chris
