Re: NBC and World series Broadcasts

I believe the right for local radio & TV flagships to simulcast NBC's
World Series coverage went on from 1956 (the first year the 'Series
was a one-network exclusive; prior to that, Gillete held the rights
and bought airtime on CBS, ABC and NBC, plus then-Dumont-owned WDTV
Pittsburgh and paid NBC another fee to produce the games for them)
 through 1983.

Today, local radio flagships CAN originate their own postseason
baseball broadcasts--as long as they air all the commercials sold
 by the network.
