Classical music was a very common format on FM, but pre-recorded packaged
programming was not, at least not in Boston. The only two stations that
did classical with a pre-taped format was WCOP-FM, for less than a year,
and WBZ-FM, for many years. The other stations in Boston that did
classical (WCRB, WBCN, WXHR, and most of the non-commercial stations) did
it with live announcers playing the records.
