Summer Camp Radio

Listening to the "Morning Attitude" talk show this morning on WSMN 1590
Nashua NH with "Arnie and Todd", the topic of summer camps were being
discussed. Two instances of summer camp broadcast radio were brought up.
One example was a summer camp in Amherst NH that has it campers using an
unknown FM frequency to broadcast on. The camp director claimed a one mile
coverage area.  Another example was a summer camp in Thetford VT. The
conversion went on to say that these small radio stations were somewhat
common in summer camps.

Anyone have some insight on this. Sounds like a QRP-DX opportunity to me.
