A couple a points to add to this discussion:
As of June 1, KPIX AM/FM in San Francisco dropped its News/Talk
programming. The FM was sold to Bonneville and is now KOYT simulcasting
WTMX in Chicago. KPIX-AM is now Imus in the Morning followed by a
simulcast of KYCY, CBS' country station in the Bay Area the rest of the
day.
CBS has continuously stated publically that they plan on keeping the
all-news formats at both WCBS and WINS. Each station has higher ratings
in different parts of the tri-state area. WINS is stronger in the city
and on Long Island where its signal is better, while WCBS performs
better in New Jersey and the northern suburbs.
