What a surprise. Yesterday from here in Central Jersey, tropo effect
came in off of Long Island and I was listening to WLIE as country for
most of the afternoon. It was even drowning out WNEW-FM for awhile.
Y107, whose call letters have finally changed to WWXY Briarcliff Manor,
WWVY Hampton Bays, and WWZY Long Branch, recieved .8 in the Winter
Arbitrons for New York. The .8 for New York metro is not bad considering
that the station is inaudible in most of the city, Northern New Jersey,
and Nassau County.
Tony, this is directed more towards you, but I did record about 25
minutes worth of WLIE yesterday, as well as full 45 minute tapes of CHR
WBLI, AC WALK-FM, Whatever you want to call it format WLNG-FM, AAA WEHM,
and Hot AC WBEA.
