The game on 1150 is no surprise; a few weeks back, Dean Johnson of the
Boston Herald mentioned that a second all-sports station might be a
possibility on 1150, with games that have no room on WEEI (i.e. basketball
conflicts, NBA and NHL final games which conflict with Sox baseball) pushed
to 1150. The only problem with this is that 1150 has a piss-poor nighttime
signal, as we have talked about before, especially on the North Shore.
Fortunately, for those who want to listen to the game tonight, WESX is
picking it up. (WEEI is already calling 1150 "The Deuce," much like ESPN
refers to its sister network espn2. Maybe 1150 will pick up the WEEY calls?
=)

Being someone who does not remember hearing rock on AM in my youth (gasp) I
actually like hearing WNFT//WAAF. Although they have that annoying ID
played once an hour on the AM side which sounds like it was recorded on the
moon, the music sounds fuller and richer on the AM. Maybe I am just a
little sick, but I personally like listening to the rock music on AM. Some
of it also involves actually being able to listen to the station audibly
without any interference, going back to our listenable signal debate from a
couple weeks ago.

One note: When listening to 1150 around 4:15 yesterday afternoon, I heard a
notice for sale of the station. They had to list all the companies who
owned each other and all the members of the board... now *there* is some
exciting radio for you.
