Newspapers doing a poor job of covering broadcast media is a phenomenon as
old as broadcast media. Donna can confirm (not from personal experience, I
hasten to assert) that newspapers have considered first radio and then TV to
be potential competitors since the git-go. The original appraoch was, if we
ignore it, it will go away. Maybe now the approach is if we make up the
stories instead of reporting, radio and TV will go away.
