A book that covers the payola scandal is BIG BEAT HEAT.

A movie that covers the quiz show scandal is QUIZ SHOW.

I vaguely recall that the producers of the quiz show that started the scandal
went on to produce "The Joker's Wild."  (Joker, JOKER, JOKER!!!!)

I also vaguely recall that Alan Freed had some interests in either publishing
or record companies, which contributed to making him a target for payola
investigation.
