I sent this a couple of hours ago, but it hasn't appeared, so far as I
can tell.  So I'm re-sending and hoping it will go through this time.

I haven't commented yet because I've been spending all my spare time for
the last week+ trying to migrate my email configuration to my new
computer.  That finally done, I'm able  to comment.

Most of what I would say has already been said.  Thank you, Garrett, for
this list over the years.  I can't say as I'm surprised, since the
activity on the list has been largely nonexistent lately, but it's at
least been a good way to learn when people in our community pass on.  I
was both surprised and sad at Bob Bittner's passing, but it was
comforting to read all the discussions about it, including on Facebook,
and to hear the announcements on WJIB about efforts to keep the station
going.  It was also through this group that I learned of Arnie
Ginsburg's passing.  Since one of my high school classmates maintains an
email list of our classmates, I passed that info along there, which
produced more reminiscences.

And thank you Bob DeMattia for starting a new list, which I have just
joined.

As many have mentioned in their comments, a lot has changed in the industry since this list started and social media and other group chat sites have become more of a way to share opinions than a mailing list. I too recall the group gathering we had at Gary’s Ice Cream followed by the live broadcast of his WCAP Saturday Night Sock Hop show from the parking lot in his trailer that you could say brought back memories of the WBZ Sundeck Studio trailer. A lot of information, opinions, technical talk, remembrances of and tributes to radio folks (both members of this list and non-members) who passed on were shared here.
