Orion Samuelson at WGN Chicago just hit the 50 year mark at the station

The link above is amazing - he was doing his farm show when JFK was shot - he announced it - then went back to the cows. 

Have to wonder if the newsman was at lunch

Carl De Suze officially joined WBZ in 1942.  I havev a photocopy of 
the press release that announced his arrival.  Most of the sources I 
can get my hands on right now (I'm not in my office) say he retired 
in 1985...43 years if my math is correct?
