Yes, but since there weren't many albums recorded in
discrete true quadrophonic, they used a system which
"synthesized" quadrophonic by sending a different EQ
between the front and rear speakers, the rears being
fed by material out-of-phase to the front, causing 
some phase cancellation when listening on a mono
radio.

WAAF may have also briefly done this.
