The 254 exchange was Allston for years. The BZ switchboard was indeed 254-5670 and the call in number in the 60's was 254-5674 WMEX and Jerry Williams were the first to use 931 when they moved from Fenway Park to Bay Village around 1965. BZ was asked by Telco to move to 931 but they fought it. They did agree to change the number to 254-5678.
