WBPS May Be 890 But It Imitates 990

I was sampling WBPS-AM 890, COL Dedham, MA today and heard a station
"commercial" suggesting that listeners could BECOME talk-show hosts!
They were invited to call the station's phone number and representatives
would set them up with a talk show of their own on nearly any subject.
The fact that such shows would be fee-based was mentioned once only and very
quickly.  The spot alluded to WBPS's 25,000-watt signal without mentioning this
is daytime only...at night, not only is the signal weaker but it's strongly
buffeted by WLS.  So whatever becomes of Providence, RI's AM 990, its 
spirit lives on in Dedham.
