a tired Jay Severin leaves WRKO

On his WRKO talk show tonight (Monday, 11 pm to 1 am)
Jay Severin said it would be his last show for the station. He is
leaving because he "bit off more than he can chew"--he's already doing
regular appearances on CNBC and MSNBC plus writing for the MSNBC
website and political consulting. Having a nightly radio talk show was
just too much; he was getting sleep-deprived
and "I'm not as young as I used to be".

Jay said the management of WRKO was very understanding and thanked a
few people, ranging from producer
Jason Dumont to former program director Kevin Straley.
No idea on who will replace Severin, but the station
may do some re-runs for awhile, or maybe have fill-in
hosts (like Bob Katzen, Jimmy Myers, or Andy Moes,
one would think).
